  • What’s in a Name

I have come to the realization that I like my name.  It all started when I heard the name Persephone in a song and thought how the name sounded so lovely.  After saying it a couple times I said my name and thought how Stephanie was similar and also sounded pretty neat.  Something so familiar to me became so foreign to my ear when taken out of context to it’s everyday use.  Then my mind wandered off….and thought about how we sometimes get so familiar with things we forget why we liked them in the first place.  I see this in marriages, life, material objects, and my Christianity.  Now I never gave Stephanie a chance because it was always familiar to me and I never got to choose it … but growing up in a Christian home sometimes it feels like I didn’t get to choose that either.  But then I remember the choices I’ve made and why I believe what I do.  I love looking at something with a different perspective completely out of context and falling in love all over again.

Here’s the song…that made me see this beauty.

Epic (Part II) by Anais Mitchell feat. Justin Vernon on Grooveshark
